Hello,
I am trying to achieve what the title of my post says.
I came across this thread: https://studiopress.community/topic/remove-header-search-and-center-logo-in-essence-pro/
and I applied this solution to my CSS by adding the following lines:
.header-left {
display: none;
}.title-area {
float: none;
margin: 0 auto;
}I didn't get the desired result, however. Please look at my site https://www.albanymatchmaking.com/. My logo text is not center aligned. I haven't made any other changes to my CSS. Could yo please help?
I would like to place the text to the right of the header Logo.
I have tried several methods, including adding a widget area in the header, using functions.php, header.php, and style.css; but I am not able to understand how to modify the theme code for this task.
I've looked at:
I'm not sure if I need a "Custom Header" or not:
I just thought of using Genesis "Simple Hooks" plugin. I'll look for the tutorial.
After upgrading to Genesis 3.3.3 from 2.3.1 the header image logo and tagline text no longer appear. I've tried to deactivate plugins and turn on one by one with no help. I've tried to deactivate nearly all the plugins prior to upgrading to 3.3.3 with no success.
Any ideas on why the tagline and the logo would no longer display after the upgrade?
Is there a php file that can be edited to add both logo and tagline text?
Please advise. Thanks in advance!
In the Header Image section where I upload the new header image in the Academy Pro theme, it says:
Your theme works best with an image with a header size of 600x160 pixels — you’ll be able to crop your image once you upload it for a perfect fit.
In the Academy Pro instructions, it goes into further detail saying it will reduce it to 300x80. However, I'm working with a logo that was created long ago, and it does not resize to those dimensions very well (not the same proportions), unless I add a whole bunch of blank space to the sides to make it 600x160 pixels.
I actually have an image of the logo that's 600x323. I wasn't sure if the width or the height was more important. But, since the height was too tall, I decided to make it compliant by changing the height, and by doing so, the image is now 297x160. When I uploaded it the 297x160 image, the cropping box came up, but I skipped the cropping.
Is there any harm in using an image that's the recommended height but narrower than the recommended width? Or should I make an image that's got 303px of empty space to make it 600px wide? Would it look wonky on some devices with all of that
"forced" empty space? So far I tested on my iMac using Chrome, Safari and Firefox, and on my iPhone. All looks good. On my iPad, it looks ok in portrait mode but in landscape, the navigation is pushed down about the height of the logo. Not sure how it would look on other devices.The safer bet is just to use plain text, but for branding, I'd like to use the logo. Any thoughts on this?
Occasional WordPress designer, learning more with each website!
I was recently hired to maintain a long-neglected site built with Genesis. I set up a development version of it to see what would happen if I upgraded to WP 5.4 (gotta go to WP 5.5 now -- sheesh!).
And what happened was I lost the site's logo from the header.
In the WordPress customizer, the 'Use for site title/logo' variable is still set to 'Image logo' but the site renders with 'Dynamic text' (I'm guessing that's what that is).
The logo JPEG is still present, but does not appear. Changing the variable setting to 'Dynamic text' and back to 'Image logo' has no effect.
Is the logo image rendered some other way? The Genesis child theme has no functions.php or header.php. The only file in it is style.css.
Topic: Reposition Navigation
Hi all,
I added the header right box back into the Genesis Sample Theme, but I would like to reposition the navigation below the logo and right header box like it used to be in older versions of the theme. Although I currently have the navigation below, I can't style the navigation separate from the header.
Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions.
KellyI did find this code, meant to go in the functions file, but it doesn't work.
Replace this on about line 145 in the functions file. // Repositions primary navigation menu. remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_nav' ); add_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_do_nav', 12 ); // Repositions header below logo and right header box. Use in conjunction with right header box. remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_nav' ); remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_header_markup_close', 15 ); add_action('genesis_header', 'add_nav_after_structural_wrap', 15); function add_nav_after_structural_wrap() { genesis_structural_wrap( 'header', 'close' ); genesis_markup( array( 'close' => genesis_do_nav() . '</header>', 'context' => 'site-header', ) ); }
Hi there! I'm a beginner when it comes to creating WordPress websites, but I do have the Genesis framework. I've been looking at the demo sites for many Genesis child themes and can't help but feel like I haven't found the "perfect" one. Since I'm a beginner, I want something that requires minimal customizations since I wouldn't really know how to customize it in the first place besides change the text and photos on the demo.
I also haven't found a child theme with the type of header I'm imagining (they're either all full-width or have an image behind them). I want it to be "indented" a little, logo on left, menu on right, and ability to add a button to the menu. It should also be on a solid color background, no images behind it.
Then I'd like a full-width hero image with a text overlay and button. The mobile responsiveness of this is important. Finally, I'd like a blog feed centered in a container, so not full-width. At the bottom of the homepage, there is a full-width email opt in form and the footer with multiple columns.
I'm great at using Canva though so I put together a quick visual for what I'm imagining, which I uploaded to my Dropbox and linked down below. I know what I want is simple and I'm sure it can be done on many themes, but like I said, I'm a beginner and don't want many customizations ahead of me.
Any ideas or recommendations? Thank you 🙂
Hey guys,
First post here! Hope I'm doing it right.
I am building a website using the Business Pro theme by SEOthemes.
They are requesting that I replace the entry title text in the hero section on specific landing pages using different images(logos of their partners) according to their page.
I've been fiddling around in the hero.php file with no luck. Was wondering if anyone had any advice.
Hi
I'm struggling to get an uploaded header image to render the same size as the text logo, whatever size I upload is either too big or blown up. Site is here
Many thanks in advance
Nick GarnettTopic: Monochrome Logo Size
I have been trying to change the logo size so it fits my logo size. Right now it's scrunched. It's been a while since I have use studiopress and I thought it was easier than this.
I added this to my functions.php
// Add support for custom header. add_theme_support( 'custom-header', array( 'width' => 800, 'height' => 163, 'header-selector' => '.site-title a', 'header-text' => false, 'flex-height' => true, 'flex-width' => true, ) );
I changed this on CSS:
.wp-custom-logo .title-area { height: 200px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; margin-top: 5px; padding: 0; width: 800px; } .site-header .custom-logo-link .custom-logo { height: 200px; width: auto; }
